Offers basic first aid and safety skills for youth 9-13 years old. Participants learn about being safe when they are without the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or trusted adult, both at home and in their communities.

• The importance of responsibility and respect while being accountable for yourself 
• The importance of setting and following safety rules when on your own 
• How to stay safe at home and within the community 
• How to prepare for, recognize and respond to unexpected situations (e.g., inclement weather, strangers, and unanticipated visits)
• Basic first aid skills

Home Alone Program

$30 ($25 for schools & nonprofits) +GST

The Home Alone Program is designed to prepare children 9 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. It will help them understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations, and keep them safe and constructively occupied. 

The program focuses on small group discussions, problem solving, role-playing, and instructor-led demonstrations.

The course material covers such topics as:

  • House Key is your responsibility
  • Strangers
  • Telephone
  • Emergencies
  • Basic First Aid
  • Internet Safety

Staying Home Alone Course

$15 Register Online Here

A comprehensive course for youth ages 9-11 to help prepare themselves and stay safe while being home alone. There are online quizzes, printouts and other activities the student will complete on their own and with their family. 

This course covers the following modules:

  • House Key & Alarm Codes
  • Stranger Danger
  • Using the Telephone
  • What to do in Emergencies
  • Basic First Aid
